Academic Policy and Admission Guidelines

INTRODUCTION:
SZABIST has established its online program
for students who cannot study full time for a SZABIST degree in the
conventional way and whose only option is to study online. SZABIST makes no
distinction in the quality of the award they gain. All students, whether they
attend SZABIST or study through the online program, after successful
competition of the academic program are awarded a SZABIST degree. The
quality of SZABIST course certificate and degree is widely acknowledged,
respected and recognized worldwide.
Online program suit people for a variety of reasons. It
is ideal if you have professional or family commitments or you are looking for
career advancement or a career change but do not wish to give up your current
job to study full-time. Perhaps you have irregular working hours or you have to
travel extensively. By studying online you can plan your studies at any time of
day (or night) to suit yourself.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
For admission to the MBA/ MS Certificate Program, the
candidate must possess a Bachelors degree from a HEC recognized university in
any field of study. In case of registering for advanced courses, the pre
requisite requirement must be completed.
1.
ACADEMIC GUIDELINES FOR CERTIFICATE COURSES
1.1 REGISTRATION
Student can register within four weeks maximum of any
course launch.
The fee in full for the registered courses must be
received at SZABIST by the end of fourth week of launch of course.
Registered students who have not paid their fees by fourth week of classes will
have their registration cancelled (forced De-registration).
1.2 ADMINISTRATIVE
-
All students are required to keep the administration
informed of any change in their email, home / office address and telephone
numbers (cell, residence and office) from time to time. Student can change
profiles online.

All announcements will be posted on the online notice
board and through email. You must regularly check these for any updates.
1.3 FINANCIAL
-
All tuition fees should be paid to SZABIST.
-
Tuition Fees is payable by the due date and must be
received at SZABIST by the end of fourth week of course launch.
-
If fee is not paid by the deadline, the student will
not be allowed to continue in the program.
2. ACADEMIC POLICY
2.1. ATTENDANCE
-
Students are required to maintain a minimum of 80%
online contacts throughout the semesters in order to qualify for the final exam
-
Non-compliance would lead to the award of letter grade
F in the course, with no refund in fee.

Minimum passing grade in each course is B.

If incomplete grade is not completed before the
specified deadline, then the default grade is an F.
2.3 EXAMINATION RULES

| Final exam (at SZABIST authorized center)

Online assessment 40% includes assignments, quizzes,
discussions, term paper and project.

Final exam 60% will be conducted at a SZABIST
authorized center. Every efforts will be made to have the center in a large
city as close as possible to the candidate.

Exams /tests will remain open for one week period.
2.4 WITHDRAWAL
-
Continuing students can withdraw from any number of
courses within the eight week of course launch.
-
In case of withdrawal, a letter grade of W (with no
grade points) will be given.
2.5 Refund in case of WITHDRAWAL
-
Incase of withdrawal from a course 50% tuition fee will
be refunded if a student withdraw within 2 weeks of
first time course access.
2.6 GRADES & CERTIFICATE
-
All grades received for all examinations are posted on
online bulletin board ‘Tentative Results’ at end of the course. Students must
verify the final results again after two weeks of posting.

Final grades are only issued upon request in official
letter form at the end of a course.
2.7 TRANSFER TO OFF LINE DEGREE
PROGRAM
Transfer is possible to SZABIST off line degree program
and from off line program to online program subject to following for transfer
to offline program:

Availability of Space at the transferring campus
-
Meeting Admission criteria (minimum percentage,
admission test) of the transferring Campus

Clearance of all past dues
-
All course and grades will be transferred.
2.8 OTHER ACADEMIC RULES
-
The academic policy is revised on a regular basis.
Students are advised to check online notice board regularly for any revisions
in the above academic policy.

In all academic matters, the decision of the
Coordinator Committee / Academic Council is final.
-
Coordinators Committee is the competent authority to
take all academic and administrative decisions. The Committee is comprises of
all program coordinators and headed by the Vice President / Project Director.
2.9 DISCLAIMER
This is only informational and should not be taken as
binding on the Institute. The Institute therefore reserves the right to change
any rule, regulation, policy and guideline applicable to the program and the
students whenever it is deemed appropriate or necessary, and it will be binding
on all continuing and new students for all programs at all campuses.
